Terms of service
Version draft. These terms apply to everyone who signs in to plinto, and to each organization they act for.
1. Who we are
plinto is a hosted service for building, releasing and deploying software: hosted git repositories, a package repository, version groups, builds that run on plinto's workers, reviews, pipelines and environments. It is provided by [the company providing plinto], of [its country] ("plinto", "we", "us").
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google or GitHub account, and pick a user name, which can't change later.
- You look after what lets you in: your Google or GitHub account, the SSH keys you add and the access keys
plinto loginkeeps on your computer. Tell us at once if you think someone else used them. - An account is for one person. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least 16. [Check the age for the countries plinto is offered in.]
3. Organizations
- Work in plinto belongs to an organization. While plinto is invite-only, plinto's admins make organizations; an organization's admins invite its members, change their roles and remove them.
- If you make or run an organization for a company or another body, you confirm you may bind it to these terms. The organization is then responsible for what its members do in it.
4. Your content
- Your code, packages, build logs, configuration and everything else you or your organization put in plinto stay yours. We claim no ownership of them.
- You give us the permission needed to run the service for you, and only that: to store, copy, build, test, run, package and send your content as you ask, to your organization's members, its builds and the servers you deploy to.
- You make sure you may use what you put in plinto, including the licences of the packages you import.
- Secrets plinto keeps for you, such as the keys it deploys to your servers with, are used only to do what you asked.
5. The plinto catalog
Every organization can use the catalog: toolchains, build systems and libraries that plinto imports from public sources, each under its own licence. We may add or remove versions in it. It comes as it is.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use plinto to:
- make or spread malware, or attack, probe or overload plinto, its workers, its other users or anyone else (security testing only with our written permission);
- get around its limits, its isolation between organizations, or the proxies its builds reach the internet through;
- run work unrelated to building, testing and deploying software, such as mining cryptocurrency;
- store or share anything unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- share an account, or resell plinto without our agreement.
7. Limits
Each organization has limits on build minutes a month and on storage, which its settings show. When one is reached, plinto starts no more builds, or keeps nothing more, until the limit is raised or the month turns. We may change the limits a new organization gets.
8. Fees
plinto is free while it is invite-only. If we start charging, we will tell you beforehand, and you can stop before you owe anything. [Pricing and billing terms once there are plans.]
9. The service as it is
plinto is new and changes often. We work to keep it running and your data safe, and keep backups, but we don't promise it will always be available or without faults. Keep your own copies of what matters: your repositories can be cloned with git at any time.
10. Suspension and ending
- We may suspend a person or an organization that breaks these terms, puts plinto or others at risk, or when the law requires it. Nothing of a suspended organization runs: no builds, pipelines or deployments.
- An organization's admins can delete it. It is hidden at once and its data is deleted from every part of plinto 30 days later, unless it is restored before.
- You can stop using plinto at any time. If we end the service, we will tell you at least 30 days before, so you can take your data.
11. Privacy
How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
12. Liability
As far as the law allows: plinto comes without warranties; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or data; and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 euros if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law. [Review against consumer law where plinto is offered.]
13. Changes to these terms
We will tell you about important changes at least 30 days before they apply, in plinto or by email. plinto records which version each person accepted, and asks for the new one before letting you in again.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [its country], and its courts settle disputes about them, without taking away the protection the law where you live gives you.
